The Centre for Social Impact and Philanthropy (CSIP) at Ashoka University is India’s first dedicated institution focused on strengthening decision-making and capacity building in the philanthropic and social sectors. Established with the mission of leveraging global philanthropy to drive social impact in India, CSIP has completed over a decade of work in knowledge creation, sector convenings, and capacity development.
Envisioned as a premier do-tank, CSIP blends academic rigor with sectoral practice to generate actionable insights and drive measurable change. CSIP aims to evolve into a globally recognized, interdisciplinary centre producing practice-led knowledge that enables social impact.
CSIP’s efforts are driven through three key initiatives:
1. Governance & Leadership
2. Data-Driven Philanthropy
3. Case Centre for Philanthropy and Social Impact
Over the past 10 years of existence, CSIP has contributed to several important sector leading research outputs (35+ research products), impactful fellowships (85+ fellows), capacity building initiatives (450+ alumni), and conventions / seminars (23+).
As a domain agnostic ecosystem enabler CSIP collaborates with a diversed group of partners for its research, capacity building, and convenings.
