Development Management Foundation (DMF) is a non-profit organisation incorporated as a section 8 (1) company under the Companies Act, 2013. DMF set up the Indian School of Development Management (ISDM), as a one of its kind Management School for the Social Sector, established to improve the lives of millions living in poverty by transforming the way Social Sector Organisations are built, led and managed for sustained impact at scale. The vision of ISDM is to mainstream conversations and build an ecosystem around the idea of Management for Social Change or Development Management (DM) in the country. We address three critical gaps in the ecosystem:
- Talent Gap: Building High Quality Management Talent for the Social Sector (Post Graduate Program)
- Practice Gap: Building Stronger Organizations by Strengthening the Practice of Management in the Sector (Strategic Capacity Building)
- Knowledge Gap: Catalysing a Body of Knowledge for Development Management (Global Knowledge Hub)
A new-age profession and discipline called Development Management would help create a much stronger, more organised social sector which looks at social issues from a more holistic systems thinking lens, a sector which has the ability to build more effective and scalable programs, resilient organizations and meaningful collaborations to deliver sustained changes.
