The National Entrepreneurship Institute (INSKEN) is an agency under Malaysia’s Ministry of Entrepreneur Development and Cooperatives (KUSKOP), established to strengthen the country’s entrepreneurial ecosystem through capacity-building initiatives and inclusive entrepreneurship development programmes. INSKEN focuses on delivering practical, industry-relevant training designed to equip entrepreneurs with the knowledge, skills, and capabilities needed to grow and sustain their businesses in an increasingly competitive market environment.
Through a structured approach that integrates training, mentorship, and industry engagement, INSKEN implements various entrepreneurship development programmes aimed at enhancing the capabilities of entrepreneurs across different sectors. These programmes emphasise applied learning, ensuring that participants could translate knowledge into actionable strategies within their businesses. By combining practical training with guidance from industry practitioners, INSKEN helps entrepreneurs improve operational performance, scale their ventures, and adapt to evolving market demands.
INSKEN also plays an important role in advancing Malaysia’s social entrepreneurship landscape. The institute is responsible for administering the Social Enterprise Accreditation framework, which recognises enterprises that integrate sustainable business models with measurable social or environmental impact.
Beyond programme implementation, INSKEN collaborates with government agencies, industry players, and strategic partners to strengthen Malaysia’s entrepreneurship ecosystem, in alignment with the government’s aspiration to nurture resilient, innovative, and globally competitive entrepreneurs.
