Learning Links Foundation is one of the largest and most respected education enhancement and skill building organizations in India, and has been involved in offering highly innovative educational solutions to partners across the country. The Trust, established in 2002, with the mission to “Empower Lives” has been working across India and the Asia region for improving quality in education, strengthening citizenship amongst youth, harnessing the power of technology for educational and social improvement and supporting sustainable social innovation.
The Learning Links Foundation aims to improve systems so that the next generation is more able to create the future they envision for themselves, their communities and societies.
The Foundation boasts of creating the largest Teacher Professional Development network in India, having provided capacity building opportunities to over 900,000 teachers, student-teachers and faculty of higher education institutes since 2003. Teams at Learning Links Foundation have extensive experience in working nearly all states in India and have partnered with over 55 Universities offering capacity building for a variety of pedagogical and professional skills, including the latest ICT tools, learning approaches and assessment methods.
The Foundation has done extensive work to support students with skills required to succeed in the workforce. Almost 150,000 students have been given a chance to work on technology driven socially relevant projects that are aimed at not only addressing common community problems but are also provided with the opportunity to be employed by technology leaders.
Learning Links Foundation with its decade long involvement in the field has identified the need for next-generation capacity development of student teachers and teachers to cater to the ever-increasing growth of the education sector market. The Foundation has launched a program for empowering teachers and student teachers with edu – entrepreneurial skills which would result in multi fold expansion of scope for job opportunities after training.
The Foundation has initiated a project based Civic Education initiative that provides students with knowledge about democracy, enhances their skills and deepens their understanding on how to work together to make their community a better and more productive place to live in. The project encourages civic participation amongst students, teachers, parents and members of the community and motivates students to work in collaboration and identify a problem in their community as well as study the local policies related to the problem, spread over 16 States, the program has helped reach over 5000 students so far.
