Established in 2004-05, Lend A Hand India is focused on integration of vocational education in the secondary and higher secondary school curriculum in India – thereby bridging the gap between what one learns in school and what is practically required in real life. Currently, it is working across India in 12 states reaching to 1200 schools and 90,000 young students. It works extensively with the state governments of Maharashtra, Gujarat, Andhra Pradesh, Telangana, NCT of Delhi, Haryana, Odisha, Sikkim and UT of Diu & Daman.
Lend A Hand India is co-founded by Sunanda Mane and Raj Gilda. Sunanda, an Ashoka Fellow 2012, has extensive experience in the development sector for the last 20 years. Raj is a banker-turned-social entrepreneur, having worked in the USA, India and the UK in his previous role with Citibank, Deloitte Consulting in New York, and National Stock Exchange in India.
