The Menzies Leadership Foundation is a non-partisan philanthropic foundation and system entrepreneur dedicated to fostering outstanding leadership for the greater good.
The Foundation amplifies a global leadership movement that strengthens the capacity of individuals, organisations and communities to connect, collaborate and act collectively in the face of increasing complexity. At a time of climate disruption, democratic strain and entrenched inequality, it recognises that traditional command-and-control models of leadership are no longer sufficient.
Leadership is understood not as positional authority, but as a shared and learnable capability. Through investing in leadership as a system, the Foundation seeks to build the conditions required for society to navigate uncertainty with integrity, resilience and collective agency.
Established to honour the legacy of Sir Robert Menzies, Australia’s longest-serving Prime Minister, the Foundation has evolved over more than four decades to meet contemporary challenges — shifting from individual leadership development toward catalysing leadership capacity at scale.
Priorities
The Menzies Leadership Foundation works at the intersection of practice, policy and culture to strengthen leadership for the greater good through three interconnected priorities:
- Innovation – Catalysing partnerships and experiments that build leadership capability across systems and communities.
- Insights – Synthesising research, lived experience and data to advance the field of leadership in complexity.
- Influence – Elevating public narratives on leadership, integrity and collective responsibility to support more resilient futures.
Through convening, thought leadership and strategic partnerships, the Menzies Leadership Foundation contributes to leadership that is equal to the challenges of the present — and accessible to all.
