Save the Children, any of several independent, voluntary organizations that seek to provide both disaster and long-term aid to disadvantaged children throughout the world. It was established in the United Kingdom in 1919 and is now a global movement in about 120 countries with 30 national member organizations. Since 1953, Save the Children Korea has been conducting projects specializing in children’s rights, including support for abused children and children living with low-income grandparents.
