Founded in December 2014, Shenzhen Foundation for International Exchange and Cooperation (SFIEC) is a non-public and nonprofit foundation that aims to promote Shenzhen’s global engagement under the supervision of Shenzhen Foreign Affairs Office.
For the past three years, SFIEC has integrated resources from diverse sectors and established an open platform allowing stakeholders to collectively help build a “Shenzhen Identity”. It has been developing and funding a total of 70 projects, promoting over 280 events of international exchange in 35 cities from 26 countries in 6 continents. These events covered 8 different areas including trade and commerce, science and technology, education, culture, art, environmental protection and sister city relation management; benefiting over 7,000 persons.

The Chairman of the Board of Trustees of SFIEC is Mr. Wang Shi, Founder and Honorary Chairman of Vanke Co. Ltd.

As China promotes the “Belt and Road” Initiative and Shenzhen accelerates its globalization, SFIEC will place more emphasis on projects related to regional development and connectivity so as to continue the effort of telling the inspiring story of Shenzhen to the world.
