UNICEF, the United Nations agency for children, works to safeguard the rights of every child, especially the most vulnerable and those hardest to reach. Across more than 190 countries and territories, we do whatever it takes to help children survive, thrive, and unlock their potential, from early childhood through adolescence. We provide and advocate for quality education, health, and nutrition services, and protect children from violence and abuse. We bring clean water and sanitation to those who need it most and protect children from the effects of climate change and disease. During emergencies, we’re on the ground before, during, and after, providing life-saving support and hope.
In East Asia and the Pacific region, UNICEF operates in 27 countries, from Mongolia in the North to Tonga in the South, and from Western China to the Cook Islands. Each year, around 30 million children are born in this region, and UNICEF works in every corner to ensure every child and adolescent has the opportunity to grow up in a safe, healthy, and empowering environment.
Our work for children would not be possible without the generosity and commitment of our partners. We know we can best realize our mission by working side by side with governments, businesses, philanthropists, foundations and organizations, building engagement based on shared values, and jointly celebrating the results our partnerships bring for children.
