YTL Foundation was founded in 1997 on the belief that education is the basis on which every society progresses. Education moulds minds, inspire achievements and ultimately builds societies and nations.
By providing communities in Malaysia with educational and leadership opportunities, YTL Foundation aims to empower individuals and communities to reach their full potential and to be catalysts of change to enrich and benefit society.
In its early years, YTL Foundation provided financial aid and assistance to deserving individuals who would otherwise be denied opportunities to pursue higher education. Over the years, YTL Foundation has expanded its role to include, among other things:
• Funding: Grants provided to charitable organisations, typically in multi-year gifts
• Initiate and incubate: Investing resources for new and existing programs to thrive
• Networks: Leveraging our partnerships and reach to generate greater impact
• Assets and products: Use of our virtual and physical spaces
Through these programmes, providing thought leadership and by championing the use of technology, backed by the YTL Group’s 60-year heritage of nation-building, YTL Foundation hopes to continue building better societies, through better education. Some of YTL Foundation’s key activities are shared in what follows, with illustrations of some of our major initiatives in these areas.
