AVPN July Webinar: Benefit Corporation: Understanding the Role of Policymakers and Stakeholders

The AVPN Asia Policy Forum (APF) is a convening platform for social economy advocates, offering practical learning opportunities to support governments in Asia to build an enabling environment for the social economy.

This inaugural APF webinar featured the role of policymakers and stakeholders in rolling out legislation that supports the benefit corporation movement.

The webinar focused on:

  • An overview of the benefit corporation key developments across the world and in the Asian region provided by Asia-Pacific B Corporation Association
  • A case study on proposed amendments to the Taiwan’s Companies Act by Professor Richard Y. Fang from the Department of Law of Chinese Cultural University, Taiwan.
  • How the public, private, and people sector have come together to collaborate on the legislative journey

A. Environmental Stewardship
To protect the environment, we organize programmes like mangrove nursery and Reforestation, Coastal and River Clean-Up, Community Based Environmental Solid Waste Management, Environmental IEC Campaign and Eco-Academy

B. Food Security and Sustainable Livelihood
To ensure a sustainable livelihood for the community, eco-tourism include Buhatan River Cruise Visitor Center Buhatan River Mangrove Boardwalk are run by the community. Others include Organic Vegetable and Root crops Farming, Vegetable and Root crops Chips and by-products Processing and establishing a Zero waste store.

C. Empowered Communities
To empower the community, we provide product and Agri-Enterprise Development Training, Immersion and Learnings Exchange Program, Earth Warrior Training and Community Based Social Entrepreneurship Training
