MICROFINANCE EVENT: Asian Venture Philanthropy Network (AVPN) Conference; June 4 – 7, 2018; Singapore

Summary of Event: This sixth iteration of this event centers on maximizing social impact in Asia through investing and philanthropy. The topics are to include “strategic philanthropy,” investing in education and healthcare, investing with a gender lens, government policy implications, and scaling social-purpose organizations. The first day of the conference, June 4, is only open to members of the Asian Venture Philanthropy Network (AVPN).

Background on Organizers: AVPN is a Singapore-based funders’ network that focuses on social investment and “impact philanthropy.” It helps its members maximize the societal impact of their donations and investments by bringing together governments, private companies, NGOs and academia to address impact investing challenges. It currently has approximately 370 member organizations from 28 countries, most of which are in Asia. AVPN recently launched a “Deal Sharing Program” to connect funders to social-purpose organizations deemed effective in the funders’ areas of interest.

Cost: The fee to attend is USD 1,200.
