AVPN COVID-19 Webinar Series
Philanthropy’s response to COVID-19 across North Asia

COVID-19 started its spread in Asia as we entered into the new decade. Since then, it has become a global pandemic. In response to the constantly evolving situation, grantmakers have been collectively scaling innovative and impactful solutions to mitigate the impact of the virus.

The virtual convening:

  • Explored the diverse roles that grantmakers in the region can play to address the COVID-19 pandemic;
  • Shared examples of how they have responded to the outbreak, ranging from preparedness, response and mitigation;
  • Heard from voices on-the-ground and discuss how best to address upcoming challenges and reduce post-outbreak implications.

This webinar was part of a series organised by AVPN to showcase how a wide range of stakeholders comprising grantmakers, impact investors and corporations can respond to the global pandemic effectively.


A. Environmental Stewardship
To protect the environment, we organize programmes like mangrove nursery and Reforestation, Coastal and River Clean-Up, Community Based Environmental Solid Waste Management, Environmental IEC Campaign and Eco-Academy

B. Food Security and Sustainable Livelihood
To ensure a sustainable livelihood for the community, eco-tourism include Buhatan River Cruise Visitor Center Buhatan River Mangrove Boardwalk are run by the community. Others include Organic Vegetable and Root crops Farming, Vegetable and Root crops Chips and by-products Processing and establishing a Zero waste store.

C. Empowered Communities
To empower the community, we provide product and Agri-Enterprise Development Training, Immersion and Learnings Exchange Program, Earth Warrior Training and Community Based Social Entrepreneurship Training
