Major financial investments are required to transition the world’s economy to a low-carbon path, reduce greenhouse gas concentrations, and build the resilience of vulnerable countries and communities to climate change.

Global warming affects all people and ecosystems, but particularly the poor who suffer disproportionately from climate-change impacts. What role does climate finance play? What sort of projects are mostly being funded? What support is available to the Bottom of the Pyramid?

Chhavi Sharma, International Program Manager for the Ashden Awards Program will talk about their work supporting sustainable energy pioneers in the UK and the developing world to accelerate the transition to a low carbon world.

Namita Vikas, Group President and Country Head-Responsible Banking and Chief Sustainability Officer,Yes Bank will share with us Yes Bank’s sustainability initiatives and efforts towards tackling climate change. Yes Bank just recently announced their target to mobilize USD 5 billion from 2015 to 2020 for climate action through lending, investing and raising capital towards mitigation, adaptation and resilience.
