AVPN September Webinar: Building Myanmar’s Pipeline of Tech Ventures and Social Enterprises


Over the past years, individuals and organisations have experienced the potential of Impact Investing. In addition, tech startups have the potential to bring in the latest technologies from around the world, thereby leapfrogging developments in localised areas.

The Impact Investment and technology space in Myanmar is slowly but surely coming to life. Several organisations are actively shaping and driving these fields further. In this webinar, we heard from AVPN members, Phandeeyar and Rockstart Impact (One To Watch‘s Accelerator Programme), who shared insights on the most recent developments in Myanmar.

Through the webinar, Jes Kaliebe Petersen and Robbert Groenen:

  • Identified investment opportunities in Myanmar’s tech start-up and impact entrepreneurs spaces;
  • Evaluated the impact that your investment can make;
  • Set expectations along the investment journey.


A. Environmental Stewardship
To protect the environment, we organize programmes like mangrove nursery and Reforestation, Coastal and River Clean-Up, Community Based Environmental Solid Waste Management, Environmental IEC Campaign and Eco-Academy

B. Food Security and Sustainable Livelihood
To ensure a sustainable livelihood for the community, eco-tourism include Buhatan River Cruise Visitor Center Buhatan River Mangrove Boardwalk are run by the community. Others include Organic Vegetable and Root crops Farming, Vegetable and Root crops Chips and by-products Processing and establishing a Zero waste store.

C. Empowered Communities
To empower the community, we provide product and Agri-Enterprise Development Training, Immersion and Learnings Exchange Program, Earth Warrior Training and Community Based Social Entrepreneurship Training
