AVPN Global Conference 2023
Location: Kuala Lumpur, Malaysia
Date: 20 – 22 June 2023
More than 1,300 social investors attended the AVPN Global Conference 2023, which championed Asian voices around the theme, “Global Challenges: Asian Solutions.” Delivered in partnership with Yayasan Hasanah, the foundation of Khazanah Nasional, the Malaysian government’s sovereign wealth fund, the Conference brought the social investment community together to take urgent, courageous, and bold action to address critical issues.
For our Inaugural Impact Investing Day which was held on the second day of the Conference, we meticulously curated an agenda that covered themes where knowledge and urgent actions are needed. Here are some key takeaways and insights:
- There is an enormous potential of high-growth opportunities in Asian markets, and potential for impact investors looking to harvest both deep impact and financial returns.
- We introduced our audience to new learnings whether it is on latest impact monitoring and measurement (IMM) practices or recent developments in Artificial Intelligence, to help them identify the current trends and how to leverage them to create greater impact.
- AVPN wants to shift the paradigm surrounding impact investing, demonstrating it as a viable financial opportunity that can create positive change in the world
South Asia Social Investment Summit 2023

The AVPN South Asia Summit brought together stakeholders who, representing the continuum of capital, threw light on pertinent issues affecting the South Asia region. Based on the theme, “Championing Transformative Collective Action,” the robust discussions centered around topics such as gender equality, climate action, innovative finance, primary healthcare, safe WASH and STEM education. With 2023 being the year of India’s G20 presidency, the summit also deliberated on policy recommendations that would inform the way ahead for India.
2nd Asia-Pacific Tuberculosis Forum 2022

Date: 29 – 30 November 2022
AVPN – together with Johnson & Johnson (J&J), The Global Fund, and Global TB Caucus – held the 2nd Asia Pacific Tuberculosis (TB) Forum. The virtual event, held in English with simultaneous translation in Chinese, Bahasa Indonesia, Thai, and Vietnamese, brought together key stakeholders who can play a role in TB elimination, including experts, youth leaders, policymakers, NGOs, and academics from across the Asia Pacific. The forum united the region to focus on youths to accelerate efforts to end TB.
AVPN Social Investment Forum Japan 2022
Location: Tokyo, Japan
Date: 18 November 2022
The exclusive convening was an opportunity to discuss and share knowledge and best practices around social investments in gender, education, and economic empowerment issues, which are key areas for achieving the SDGs. The event discussed trends and regional-relevant case studies of key players in Asia’s social investment market. The convening created new social investment opportunities by connecting companies, funds, and intermediary support organisations in Asia with investors and organisations outside the region.
