She brings years of experience in driving regional planning processes, strategic grant cycle management, the management of community investment projects, such as YouthSpark, which focuses on making digital literacy and computer science education accessible to all young people around the world. She played an instrumental role in driving the execution of the global movement "The Hour of Code” for both the Central and Eastern Europe, and Asia regions. This campaign reaches tens of millions of students worldwide, that mobilizes educators, parents, policy makers and governments, nonprofits and the industry to inspire all young people to learn computer science and open the door to a promising future. Prior to joining Microsoft, Marija spent five years in AIESEC Serbia, the world’s largest youth-run nonprofit which focuses on developing the leadership potential of young people through experiential learning, volunteer experiences and professional internships. She served AIESEC in various functions, including as president of the AIESEC chapter in Serbia and vice president of external relations. As local President, she led the organization to offer more than 500 young people leadership development opportunities through volunteer work annually. Marija was born and raised in Serbia, and earned a master's degree from the Faculty of Economics at the University of Niš, Serbia. She loves to hike, read, play squash and take part in triathlons.
