Dr Aparajita Gogoi is the Executive Director of an Indian NGO, Centre for Catalyzing Change (formerly CEDPA India) which works to improve the lives of girls and women by empowering them with skills to build better lives. She holds a PhD in International Politics from Jawaharlal Nehru University, New Delhi, India. Dr Gogoi is a political scientist, an advocate and crusader for realizing the rights of women and girls and works with networks and advocates to affect change by mobilizing action and people.  

Her work centers on defining approaches and implementing strategies to improve the lives of girls and women by empowering them with skills to build better lives.  She leads research, implementation, policy advocacy, and campaigns which put women and girls at the center. The very successful whatwomenwant campaign was conceived and implemented in India under her leadership and she guides the global whatwomenwant campaign as the global co-chair. 

A winner of the WIE Humanitarian Award, Dr Gogoi was also named as one of the 100 most inspiring women in the world by The Guardian of UK in 2011.
