Amira Shah is Executive Director at Signet Chemicals, India’s largest distributor of pharmaceutical raw materials and Director of the Harish & Bina Shah Foundation (HBS Foundation), her family’s philanthropic foundation, based out of Mumbai.

Amira is an M.Pharm from the University of Nottingham, England. She started her career as a formulation scientist at Cipla, one of India’s leading pharmaceutical companies and then moved to Universal Consulting, a boutique strategic consultancy in Mumbai. Several multi-industry projects later, Amira shifted industry focus to the nonprofit sector and worked with Dasra, a pioneering strategic philanthropy foundation working for social change across India.

Presently, in her dual role with the family’s business and foundation, Amira, along with her family members and foundation team, supports nonprofits in the areas of agriculture & environment, education, gender equity, health, human rights, livelihoods and media & journalism.
