Currently the Director of Beijing office at Macao Tong Chai Charity Association. In 2013, Sandy launched Macao Tong Chai Charity Association (Tong Chai) Beijing office. Tong Chai is a grant-making foundation, aiming at letting every Chinese child to enjoy fair and high-quality education. Tong Chai is working extensively in early childhood education, basic education, social innovation and philanthropy capacity building. It has been working with over 50 organizations from different cities to carry out education projects in 19 provinces and regions across China. Since 2013, more than 19,000 teachers and parents have received training and support delivered by these projects, and more than 650,000 children have benefited from these projects. In order to promote social entrepreneurship in the education sector, Tong Chai launched an accelerator program called Island Accelerator with AHA School of Social Innovation in 2016. The program provides seed funding, product design boot camps and exchange opportunity for the entrepreneurs. Also over 50 city forums on education were being held across China. After an indepth focus in grant making in the ECE field, Tong Chai also seeks different ways to enlarge the impact and thus it co-launched the Rural Education Collective Impact in Education with the Leping Social Entrepreneur Foundation which aims to bring in different stakeholders to work together and solve the problems in the ECE field. Besides Tong Chai, Sandy also serves as the Executive Director of Perfeição Group. Perfeição is a consulting firm that focuses on advising companies in investment and trade between China and Lusophone speaking countries. The business ranges from fisheries, mining, energy to agriculture. The Group also has its arm in trading and investment. Headquartered in Macao, Perfeição has offices in Beijing, Lisbon, São Paulo, and Maputo. Prior to Tong Chai, Sandy served as a consultant at an investment boutique firm that focused in Asian market. Prior to that, she was the investment consultant at the World Bank. She obtained her bachelor of Economics and Law degree from Peking University, and her master degrees from Columbia University and the Lee Kuan Yew School of Public Policy. She speaks English, Portuguese, French, Mandarin, Cantonese and Hokkien.
