Consulting Director William Murray brings to EMC over 15 years of senior-level management experience at some of the world?s largest investment companies with 15 years of managing multimillion-dollar development projects in Southeast Asia. 
His private-sector work in investment banking gave him the opportunity to design and manage large international scope projects.  Starting as a sell-side investment banker at Merrill Lynch, he eventually rose to the position of National Director of Institutional Investing AIG U.S.A. managing offices in New York, Chicago, San Francisco, Los Angeles, Atlanta and Denver.    During his career as an investment banker he had the opportunity to write, analyse and present a myriad of strategic business plans. 
As WWF?s Senior Manager-Asia Pacific region.  His responsibilities were global and business focused with an emphasis on building private sector linkages between Southeast Asian companies and global north retailers/buyers. 
Previous to this he spent five years working for SNV-Netherlands in Lao PDR, Vietnam and the Netherlands.  Serving as Business Development Program Leader, he co-designed SNV?s Global Impact Investment program with the then CEO in The Netherlands. He has been involved with Impact Investing since before the movement had a name.
Concurrently, he served as the Fund Manager of a $4 million ASC Accelerator fund to support Vietnamese companies.  Responsible for hiring a full staff for the fund, he oversaw the management, disbursements/grants, recordkeeping, and monitoring.  He is committed to building the skills for SME?s and PPPs in areas such as Business Strategic Planning, business modelling, marketing and branding.
He has been a resident of Southeast Asia for 18 years, 14 of which have been in Laos and can speak both Lao and Thai.
