Zainariah binti Hj Johari have been involveved in the creative and arts field for almost 3 decades. Starting from her career at Asia Pacific VideoLab (APV), a post-production and special effects house in 1990, she gained much exposure to the world of creative content including filming and advertising, visual effect as well as branding. As APV is the latest technology-conscious company with highly skilled individual from around the world, most of its clients are from the international market and these are the main portfolio for Zainariah. In 2010, Zainariah relinquished her position as CEO of the company after performing the transfer of "digital intermediate" for the company that migrated its operations from semi-digital to fully digital with 4K resolutions which at that time is he state of the arts. She then moved on to produce international content for cable network including Hallmark, AXN as well as working closely with broadcasters in Japan. All along thru out these vocation, arts and its related space has always been deeply rooted in herself. 

Zainariah is currently the Lead of Arts, Culture and Public Spaces at Yayasan Hasanah, a foundation of Khazanah Nasional Berhad. As an impact area lead, her main task is to achieve the vision and mission of the pillar which is the preservation, conservation and protection of the nation’s cultural assets as well as mainstreaming the arts. Increasing awareness and appreciation of the country's cultural heritage assets is the main focus of arts for Yayasan Hasanah.  

The care for our cultural assets is an in-depth interest for Zainariah Johari. Since her younger days she has always been active in University Malaya as a member of the varsity’s cultural group KESUMA. Zainariah is an ardent supporter of the arts and culture with conviction. She is convinced that a country’s culture is vital in representing the identity of it’s society and a nation as a whole.
