COVID-19 is massively threatening hard-won gains for women, children and adolescents around the world. Coinciding with the UN General Assembly, this event focuses on securing global accountability for protecting the health and rights of those we refuse to leave behind.
Be part of the conversation that brings together the people with the power to make changes and the people calling for those changes to be made. The Accountability Breakfast will be an opportunity for participants to:
LEARN about the difference that women’s political leadership makes to public accountability in relation to the pandemic;
REVIEW the findings of 2020 Progress Report on the EWEC Global Strategy for Women’s, Children’s and Adolescents’ Health, a new report on a decade of progress and commitments;
WITNESS a citizen’s parliament with female community leaders from India, Kenya, Mexico, Nigeria and the United Kingdom and elsewhere in dialogue with political leaders;
FIND ways to help launch the PMNCH 2021-2025 Strategy, strengthening the power of partnership, advocacy and the new global COVID-19 Call to Action Campaign for women, children and adolescents;
ENJOY live entertainment with creative performances, including spoken word poetry, live music and more!
