About this event

Bringing together evidence, implementation, policy, and politics: Towards a better future for all

You are invited to submit an abstract for the Evidence and Implementation Summit (EIS) 2021, taking place online and in-person in Sydney, Australia, March 2021.

EIS2021 will now be offered as a hybrid event, with full online and in-person programs bringing together a wide network of global contributors and registrants regardless of location. The review panel is currently receiving abstracts for presentations, panels, lightning talks and posters, and we warmly invite you to submit an abstract. (Note the submission period has been extended and now closes 6 October).

Contributions from a broad range of sectors are welcome; please consider our five Summit themes in the context of this year’s global challenges, across any of the sectors below and leveraging creative formats. We welcome your ideas and the innovations that will inevitably come out of this complex time.

  • Child and social welfare
  • Education
  • Humanitarian aid
  • Crime and justice
  • International development
  • Environment and climate change, including bushfires and bushfire relief
  • Early childhood
  • Aboriginal and Torres Strait Islander community services
  • Health and human services
  • Mental health services
  • Public health, including COVID-19

Your contribution, if selected, will be available to both the in-person audience and to the vibrant and diverse global network of Summit attendees participating online. Now is the time to submit your abstract and secure your registration. Do so knowing that wherever you are in the world, the opportunity to present, learn, participate and contribute will be available.

Presentation Options – Examples

The Summit will draw on a number of presentation formats, examples of which are below. We encourage proposals for presentations that use non-traditional formats, such as chat shows (without slides), fishbowl conversations, and other formats allowing greater audience engagement, particularly if are considering an online presentation.

Oral presentation (with optional slides): an opportunity for you to deliver a 20-minute presentation to participants online (pre-recorded) or in-person. Please note that each presenter may be limited to only one oral presentation.

Lightning Talk (with optional slides): an opportunity for you to deliver a 5-minute presentation to participants online (pre-recorded) or in-person. Please note that each presenter may be limited to only one oral presentation.

Panel presentation: an opportunity for your group to deliver a 90-minute interactive panel presentation online (pre-recorded) or in-person to engage with participants during a live concurrent session. Please note that a facilitator must be identified and will be responsible for the coordination of the group. We suggest that the number of panelists be limited to a maximum of 4.

Poster: an opportunity for you to present your poster to participants during a hosted poster viewing session.

Further details regarding abstract submissions are available here.
