About this event

Human-centered design underpins transformative, inclusive innovation. How do we ensure that a health product, service, or system meets the diverse needs of patients – particularly those whose voices have historically been excluded? In this episode, we’ll take this question to leaders in the field, who’ve been at the forefront of designing inclusive global health solutions:

  • Tracy Johnson, a design anthropologist and senior program officer at the Bill & Melinda Gates Foundation
  • Anne Stake, a design strategist and head of strategy at Medtronic LABS
  • Tito Ovia, the co-founder/head of public sector growth at Helium Health

Johnson, Stake, and Ovia will join us to discuss the role of design in health innovation as well as best practices for designing sustainable, inclusive solutions to global health challenges.

In this episode of our Inclusive Innovation Exchange, we will:

  • Explore the role that human-centered design plays in global health products and initiatives led by Helium Health, the Bill & Melinda Gates Foundation, and Medtronic LABS
  • Unpack how these organizations incorporate design into their innovation processes
  • Discuss the challenges and lessons learned in designing with inclusion in mind
  • Identify replicable best practices for inclusive design in global health innovation
