Traditional, siloed approaches often fall short when tackling complex social issues. There is a need for a holistic, collaborative effort involving all stakeholders, especially small and medium-sized NPOs. These organisations frequently possess valuable ground-level experience but are often excluded from current systems change discourse and funding opportunities. As such, AVPN in partnership with Arthan is proud to present the report “Analysing drivers and constraints for systems change by small medium NPOs in India”, with the support of Oak Foundation and Heifer International, which addresses a critical knowledge gap in Asia: the role of non-profit organisations (NPOs) in driving systems change.

Focusing on India as a case study, the report delves into:

  • The potential of NPOs to spearhead systems change initiatives.
  • The challenges faced by NPOs in securing funding for systems change approaches.
  • Effective collaboration models between NPOs and funders to achieve large-scale impact.

The report advocates for a social investment ecosystem where diverse perspectives are integrated into practice. By fostering collaboration and knowledge sharing, this ecosystem presents the potential for all stakeholders to work in concert, ultimately accelerating progress towards achieving positive societal transformation across India and beyond.
