About the fund
In collaboration with Google.org and Asian Development Bank (ADB), AVPN will support workers across Asia Pacific who are most impacted by workforce transitions that are driven by AI. A diverse range of organisations including charitable nonprofits, public interest organisations, social enterprises, civic institutions, municipalities, labour unions, professional bodies and associations reaching these workers will be selected through an open call. Successful applicants will receive financial support and bespoke training based on foundational AI courses designed by Google and external partners.

How It Works
The AI Opportunity Fund: Asia-Pacific is an AI skilling initiative designed to equip workers,especially those who need more support to upskill themselves, with the foundational AI knowledge and tools needed for long-term positive professional outcomes.
A wide range of organisations that reach those workers can apply for support, including trade unions and trade bodies, municipalities, nonprofits, and professional associations.
Successful applicants will receive funding, comprehensive training based on Google and external AI courses, and the option for additional tailored training offered directed to reach the vulnerable workers.

The AI Opportunity Fund: Asia-Pacific is a collaborative initiative between AVPN and
Google.org aimed at supporting workers across the Asia Pacific region who are most
affected by workforce transitions driven by Artificial Intelligence (AI).
A diverse range of organisations is eligible to apply for support, including charitable
nonprofits, public interest organisations, social enterprises, civic institutions, municipalities,
labour unions, professional bodies, and associations that reach out to and support workers
impacted by AI-driven workforce transitions.
Organisations registered and operating in any market in the Asia Pacific region are
eligible to apply.
Unfortunately, this fund is specifically targeted at organisations registered and operating
in the APAC region
Successful applicants will receive financial support and tailored training. The training is
based on foundational AI courses designed by Google and external partners. This support
aims to equip organisations with the resources and knowledge necessary to effectively
address the challenges faced by workers in transitioning job markets
Organisations are selected through an open call process. The selection is based on
various criteria, including the organisation’s track record in supporting workers, the impact
of their proposed initiatives, and their ability to effectively utilise the resources provided by
the fund.
Organisations can apply for support by participating in the open call process. Details
regarding the application process, including eligibility criteria and submission guidelines,
will be made available on the AVPN and Google.org websites during the open call period.
The open call period will take place later this year and once you have indicated the
Expression of Interest, you will receive further updates when the timeline is available.
At this stage, aside from the online form for expression of interest, no other supporting
documents are required
