Despite the common perception that impact investing necessitates accepting concessionary returns, the Impact Investing Benchmark demonstrates that it is indeed possible to achieve risk-adjusted market rates of return through impact investing. Based on data from funds across various vintage years, geographies, and fund sizes, it was found that impact investing funds have been able to perform in line with the broader universe of conventional private investment funds, although manager skill is paramount.
