AVPN Webinar: Using Data to Enhance Social Impact


Impact investors and other organizations in social impact space continuously strive to increase their impact and improve their organization’s efficiency. But in this pursuit, they often struggle in identifying and leveraging relevant IT-enabled solutions which can act as a reliable data-driven decision support system for them.

Through this webinar two of our members, Dhwani Rural Information Systems and Accenture discussed their experience in using data to create a greater impact in the social sector. They helped the attendees gain insight into the following :

  • An ecosystem-level perspective of data analysis and technology solutions for social sector
  • How impact investors can leverage technology and data in their organizations and programs
  • Insights from Dhwani’s experience of developing technology solutions for impact investors and donor organizations
  • Case study of how Accenture used data for social impact


A. Environmental Stewardship
To protect the environment, we organize programmes like mangrove nursery and Reforestation, Coastal and River Clean-Up, Community Based Environmental Solid Waste Management, Environmental IEC Campaign and Eco-Academy

B. Food Security and Sustainable Livelihood
To ensure a sustainable livelihood for the community, eco-tourism include Buhatan River Cruise Visitor Center Buhatan River Mangrove Boardwalk are run by the community. Others include Organic Vegetable and Root crops Farming, Vegetable and Root crops Chips and by-products Processing and establishing a Zero waste store.

C. Empowered Communities
To empower the community, we provide product and Agri-Enterprise Development Training, Immersion and Learnings Exchange Program, Earth Warrior Training and Community Based Social Entrepreneurship Training
