The Hong Kong Council of Social Service (HKCSS) is a pioneer in the areas of poverty alleviation, cross-sector partnership, social inclusion and in promoting social entrepreneurship and social innovation. Since the 1990s, we have been proactively advocating poverty alleviation and cross-sector partnership, successfully establishing close connections with stakeholders from the business, professional, social welfare and academic sectors. Since November 2022, we have set up a ‘Co-Creation’ unit within HKCSS, dedicated to leveraging business and community resources in driving impact. HKCSS Impact Giving is a key pillar within this unit, benefitting from a strong network comprising:
- Over 500 social welfare agency members, providing more than 90% of the social welfare services for those in need through 3,000 service units all over Hong Kong;
- Over 700 social enterprises;
- Over 170 previous or current incubatees of the HKSAR government-funded Impact Incubator, an incubator for local social enterprises and social innovation projects;
- Over 4,000 corporates and organisations, awarded the “Caring Company Award”;
- Over 30 private funders, corporate donors and social investors;
- A solid network with private donors, business associations and professional bodies, secondary schools, universities and other tertiary institutions, and think tanks.
HKCSS Impact Giving mobilises resources and partnerships to enable trust and collaboration amongst funders, social purpose organisations and impact ventures, to tackle urgent social issues. We foster co-creation to identify root causes of social challenges and to scale sustainable solutions for greater impact in society. We have exceptional in-house knowledge and experience in social entrepreneurship, social innovation and project incubation. Our solid experience in soliciting grants and advising funders, has been a driving force behind managing total funds of more than eight figure sums.
